LOCATION
Woodleigh Residential College is located among the picturesque hills of the peaceful and historic town of Herberton on the Atherton Tablelands, 18 km south-west of Atherton and a pleasant 90 minute drive from Cairns in Queensland, Australia.
DORMITORIES
Dormitories have been specially designed to ensure students can relax in comfort and privacy. House parents and dormitory supervisors reside in adjacent rooms to students and available 24 hour a day. Each dormitory includes private locker space, showers, toilets and a common room.
The dormitory common rooms are spacious, comfortable and are equipped with large televisions. They are an ideal place in which students can relax in a friendly supportive environment while pursuing their leisure activities.
HOUSE PARENTS
Woodleigh Residential College has a dedicated team of caring, friendly, professional house parents and Dormitory supervisors who work to ensure you enjoy a fruitful, safe and comfortable time while at the College. House parents lead by example and instill in students values based on co-operation, trust and mutual respect.
DINING ROOM
The dining room caters for all meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner, supper and snacks) and has a fully equipped chef's kitchen in which nutritious meals are prepared daily. Students are often involved in the preparation of meals and nominate preferences for what they would like served. Special menus are prepared for occasions such as Christmas celebrations and football grand finals. The dining room also serves as a homework and tutorial venue.
RECREATION HALL
The recreation hall provides the venue for dances, concerts and is equipped with facilities for activities such as table tennis, snooker, video nights, Playstation etc. The recreation hall retains its original character being one of the original buildings on site.
SPORTS
Woodleigh College boast a playing field with lights, a basketball court and volleyball facilities. Students are actively involved in local sporting teams, the Woodleigh Magpies Rugby Team and form teams to partake in other sporting events. Numerous sporting activities are available to Woodleigh residents such as rugby, touch football, volleyball but to name a few.

LEISURE ACTIVITIES
Each term, a picnic or barbeque is held for students at one of the Tableland's recreation reserves. Suitable video movies are shown regularly in the boarding dormitories and in the dining room. Camping out in small groups with staff members is arranged from time to time. Discos, concerts, theatre, movies, swimming and local outings are also optional activities. Each term at least one outing is organised for the whole College. For those who wish to enjoy the relaxed Tablelands lifestyle, weekends provide an opportunity to visit lakes, farm stays and the attraction of larger centres such as Cairns. Free weekends are available for those students who are able to travel home or have written permission to visit a friend of relative.
MEDICAL CARE
A fully equipped medical care centre is staffed by a qualified nurse to promptly treat any ailments. A student is cared for at no extra charge, other than doctor's fees and medicine. All students are required to have a Medicare card. A sick room is provided for students who cannot attend school. The Herberton and Atherton Hospitals are within easy reach of the College. All students are covered by the Queensland Ambulance Service(QAS) yearly college subscription.
LAUNDRY
The Woodleigh Laundry Centre is equipped with the latest equipment from Maytag USA to ensure clothing and linen receive the utmost care while being laundered.
STUDENT COUNCIL
The student body is represented by one junior and one senior from each dormitory. They are elected by their fellow students, and meet from time to time to plan a diverse range of activities from social activities to fund raising. Recommendations are brought to staff meetings and many recommendations are implemented as a result.
