(SSDARU) provides a wide variety of support programs and activities for the residents and these are underpinned with a culturally appropriate focus. The program activities are inclusive of (but not limited to):
- Case management (inclusive of individual treatment plan)
- Group therapy and education programs
- Relapse prevention
- Crisis intervention
- Individual counseling
- Referrals to external providers
- General living skills training and provision life-skills development activities
- Work skills assessment and vocational guidance
- Relationships/social skills
- Welfare assistance
- Family counseling/therapy
- Parenting skills - PUP program
- Physical exercise/sport & recreation activities/outings
- Art & craft and manual arts activities (two workshops available for this)
- Cultural specific activities
- Dual diagnosis treatment and support
- Medical treatment and support
- Transport (for all external opponents and off site sport/recreational activities)
- Aftercare
Manual Arts
The Manual Arts Trainer is on site for 22 hours per week and during this time all residents have the opportunity and are encouraged to engage in manual arts related activities.
- As there is machinery in the Upper Workshop residents are allowed access to this only when the Manual Arts trainer is on site (and in the workshop).
- Sometimes activities are more structured. E.g. Making and painting banner and articles for NAIDOC Week
Arts & Craft
The Activities Officer is on site for 18 hours per week.
- The Lower Workshop is open from 8.00am to 11.00pm every day
- All residents have the opportunity and are encouraged to engage in art and craft related activities.
- The Lower workshop can be accessed when the Activities Officer is on site, as well as some additional hours.

Sport and Recreation
The Bus Driver/Carer is involved in the organizing of variety of activities, inclusive of Sport and Recreation:
- Sport and recreation activities are a compulsory part of the program and a resident must have a valid reason for non-attendance (E.g. Medical certificate)
- Sport and recreation occurs both onsite and offsite. There are many reasons for this
- Type of activity
- Needs of clients in rehab at the time
- Seasonal (wet season may limit activities to on site).
