Shalom Christian College actively encourages our students to embrace their cultural heritage providing opportunities for students to practice and learn traditional dances. The school provides cultural tutors where possible, and moral and social support as well as the opportunity for students to perform in the local community.
Participation is encouraged with students often wishing to understand and learn traditional dances from other cultures. Each year Shalom holds it's NAIDOC festival which is an exciting opportunity for students to share their culture with their peers and wider community. Students spend a lot of time preparing themselves for this event with after school and lunch time practices. Students often learn and perform dances from a multitude of different cultures.
Shalom is exceptionally proud of all of its dancers for the way in which they represent their culture, themselves and the College.
