Shalom has determined to deliver a Christian education within a cultural inclusive curriculum, specifically designed to meet the need of indigenous students. Shalom has foundational Biblical based classes called Christian Perspectives. Christian Perspectives is designed to help students develop an understanding and appreciation of their unique culture in a Biblical context.
Christian Perspectives is a core subject undertaken by every student at Shalom. Christian Perspectives gives students an appreciation of their unique culture in a Biblical framework and within an Australian Indigenous Christian Worldview of living in a multicultural society. The subject seeks to encourage students to recognise and develop their God given talents and be committed to achieve excellence in all they do.
As a Christian School, Shalom students attend a church service every week. Students also participate in prayer and other Christian activities throughout the week. Bibles are provided in every student's room to allow access to scripture, with Shalom staff on hand to take questions or to say a prayer with the students. Emphasis is placed on students valuing their Indigenous spirituality within a Christian Worldview.
