Welcome to Pastor Bill's Aged and Disabled Hostel. As one of North Queensland's premier hostels we predominantly cater to the unique aged and disability needs of Aboriginal and Islander people, many of who hail from Cape York and surrounding communities.
As an organisation, we pride ourselves on providing premium quality care in a culturally supportive environment - a distinctive attribute increasingly being sought after by an ageing Indigenous population. Distinctively, the majority of our staff are Indigenous which helps create a familiar and welcoming surrounding for our residents seeking cultural support and affirmation in their twilight years.
Our staff are highly dedicated professionals who work tirelessly to provide elders with a place of cultural, spiritual and social harmony that Pastor Bill's is becoming renowned for. Importantly the hostel is staffed by Registered Nurses (RN's), Endorsed Enrolled Nurses (EEN's) and Assistants in Nursing (AIN's). We have a dedicated doctor and a wide range of allied health professionals visiting the site on both a regular and as needed basis. Pastor Bill's is fully accredited by the Aged Care Standards and Accreditation Agency and we have implemented a continuous quality improvement program to ensure our high standards of quality care are maintained.
As an activity of the Congress Community Development and Education Unit Ltd, one of the nation's leading Indigenous organisations, Pastor Bill's is imbued by a culture of care and service in empowering Indigenous people to attain their goals no matter what stage of life they are at.
