Congress Community Development and Education Unit Ltd (CCDEU Ltd) is an Indigenous Christian developed and managed organisation that is an initiative of the Uniting Aboriginal and Islander Christian Congress www.uaicc.org.au
It is governed by a Board of Indigenous people appointed by Calvary Presbytery, which is the Queensland arm of the Uniting Aboriginal and Islander Christian Congress.
The organisation operates a number of programs across a broad spectrum of activities designed to provide Indigenous people with pathways to social, cultural and economic empowerment. These include:
- Shalom Christian College
- Woodleigh Residential College
- Shalom Development Services Pty Ltd trading as Milbi Constructions
- Shalom Elders Village
- Stagpole Street Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Centre
- Dija Meta Aged Care
- Black Ink Press
CCDEU Ltd presently employs over two hundred people across the North Queensland region and is recognized as a major lighthouse project and contributor to the local economy.
The head office is based in Townsville, North Queensland. The Chairperson is Rev Shayne Blackman - the inspirational Indigenous visionary leader - who along with other Indigenous people was instrumental in the establishment of the organisation.
